The Coalition for Nuclear Disarmamenta and Peace(CNDP) invites you to a discussion of a new report on the health and environmental impacts of Uranium mining by the Uranium COrporation of India Limited(UCIL) in Jadugoda, Jharkhand.

A Paradise Lost: Tribes of Jharkhand Fight against Uranium Mines – A Report on the Impacts of New Uranium Mines in Jharkhand, documents the impacts of new uranium mines on the Adivasis and the environment. The study brings out the hidden agenda of state as well as unravels the socio-economic disparities emanating from displacement. The study also brings out the tragic effect of the radiation, which is kept under wraps, impacting not only Adivasis but also the people who live close to the mines for generations to come.

Tarun Kanti Bose and PT George have done meticulous study and surveys in the area to compile this report. The authors will discuss their findings in detail. The discussion will be led by Praful Bidwai, eminent columnist, environmentalist and anti-nuclear activist.
